bird world offers three types of flash: Seasonal, Perennial, and Archived.
✶ Seasonal flash is a thematic collection of designs inspired by the season it’s available for. Seasonal flash is available to book at the start of the season and is available for the duration of that season only. Books remain open until there are no appointments available.
✶ Perennial flash is an evergreen collection of 50+ designs that is available to book year-round, or whenever appointments are available. This small bop collection is created with Short appointments in mind. Perennial flash can be viewed on Patreon for paid subscribers, or chosen from the book during your appointment.
✶ Archived flash is the collected Seasonal flash designs from the past year, available to book for paid Patreon subscribers only. It includes the last four Seasonal flash collections, with occasional exclusions for retired designs that reached their claim limit (4).
-
Please see Available Flash for a step-by-step breakdown on how to book.
Books open at the same time new flash is dropped, usually on the day of a new season or a couple days before. The best way to stay in the loop is by subscribing to the [newsletter]. Paid Patreon subscribers get early access to new flash and availability.A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your appointment.
Appointments are securely booked through my website via Acuity. You may select a design, pay your deposit, and secure a date that works for your schedule all in one place.
I will only ask you to book through the website. I will not reach out via DM or text to schedule an appointment or take payment. Please send me an email if you notice any suspicious activity during your booking experience, or you need accommodations for this process. -
✶ Appointments are available on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 12:30pm and 3:30pm.
I offer two types of appointments: Short and Long. Please refer to your chosen design’s flash description to confirm which appointment you’ll need during booking.✶ Short appointment: 2.5 hours total, can accomodate one small tattoo (3” or smaller). Please come prepared with 2-3 placement ideas to help us maximize time.
✶ Long appointment: 4+ hours, can accomodate one larger / complex design (3” or larger). Please come prepared with 2-3 placement ideas to help us maximize time.
My process and practice are intentionally slow. I can only tattoo one design per appointment. This ensures you get the best tattoo possible and helps me avoid burnout. I may reach out to suggest scheduling adjustments to ensure you get the best tattoo possible.
The best way to get multiple tattoos, especially larger/more complex tattoos, is to book additional appointments.
However: Long Appointments can sometimes accomodate up to two small designs (3” or smaller). Traveling clients who want multiple tattoos, gap fillers, and compositions with multiple flash designs are booked on a case by case basis. Please send me an email with your vision and we’ll find the right appointment for you.
-
✶ Short appointment: Starts at $300 (deposit deducted at the time of your appointment). Please refer to your chosen design’s flash description to confirm the total cost.
✶ Long appointment: Starts at $550 (deposit deducted at the time of your appointment). Please refer to your chosen design’s flash description to confirm the total cost.
I price tattoos based on the complexity, size, and placement of the design as well as how long it will take to tattoo. I offer a flat rate (not hourly) with an appointment minimum of $300. My tattoos typically range $300 - $550, with exceptions for larger pieces.
Each appointment requires a $50 non-refundable deposit to book which goes toward the cost of your tattoo. Your deposit is collected when you reserve your selected design(s). Deposits are collected securely via Stripe — if you notice suspicious activity please notify me immediately and do not send any funds.
Cash is strongly preferred but Venmo is also accepted.
Tipping Policy: Tips are welcome and encouraged but not an expectation. In lieu of cash tips, I also like coffee beans and whole leaf tea, wine, ceramics, books, or gift certificates to bake shop.
-
✶ Short Appointment: 2.5 hours; expect 1.5 - 2 hours of tattooing.
✶ Long Appointment: 4 hours; expect 2.5 - 3.5 hours of tattooing.
Single sessions are usually limited to four hours of tattooing. If I am able to work on your tattoo longer than four hours, we will discuss and agree to this during your appointment.
Allow yourself plenty of buffer time between your tattoo and other plans, and please let me know if there is a time that you need to leave. While I do my best to provide an estimate of how long the tattoo will take, there are many unknown factors including but not limited to stencil creation, stencil placement, necessary bio breaks and rest, chit chat, and documenting the work.
If it is important to you to complete a piece in one sitting (travel, etc) please let me know in advance.
If a tattoo cannot be completed within four hours, it will likely require another session. This is a boundary meant to maintain both of our well-being and the quality of my work.
Appointments for continuing work are prioritized and may be booked in person at the end of your first session, with an additional $50 deposit.
session experience
-
Tattooing is a multi-step process. During your appointment we will:
✶ Fill out consent form + check photo ID
✶ Consult about design and placement
✶ Place the stencil (as many times as needed)
✶ Start the tattoo
✶ Take break(s) if needed
✶ Finish the tattoo
✶ Take pics / document the finished tattoo
✶ Bandage up + discuss aftercare
✶ Settle up payment
✶ Plan your day to spend 3-5 hours in the studio, depending on your appointment type. Many factors (including but not limited to stencil placement, individual sensitivity, design complexity, and body positioning) contribute to how long a session takes. We will discuss the length of the session at the start and I’ll update you on time throughout the tattoo.
✶ Please help me prioritize your comfort by speaking up at any point if you need to take a break, are feeling light-headed, uncomfortable beyond the expected tattoo sensation, or want end the session early for any reason. You may always decide that you’ve had enough tattooing for one day and we can complete the tattoo at a later date.
-
✶ Make sure your appointment is on your calendar. I will send an appointment reminder email four days prior to your appointment. This email will include payment, location, and general etiquette information.
✶ Get a good night’s sleep and do not show up hungover or under the influence of substances; I will turn you away and charge you the full appointment cost.
✶ Wear or bring comfortable clothing appropriate for the placement of your tattoo (for example: bring shorts for a leg tattoo).
✶ Make sure you’ve eaten 2 hours or less before your appointment, and bring snacks and water! Remember that while a tattoo is generally a passive experience, your body knows it’s experiencing a big change, and you’ll likely feel depleted during and afterward.
✶ Feel free to bring headphones, a book or game, or even an ice pack to help soothe your nerves. If you would prefer to have a quiet session (no chit chat beyond the necessary consent and tattoo-related communications), just let me know!
✶ Hydrate and moisturize the area you want to get tattooed in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin makes for pretty tattoos. Limit sun exposure to the desired tattoo area - I cannot tattoo you if you have a sunburn.
✶ Send me an email if you plan to use topical numbing cream, and apply 30 mins before your appointment. I am happy to share recommendations with you.
-
Please come to your appointment alone unless we have previously arranged for you to bring a companion for accessibility accommodations; I want to devote my full attention to you and your tattoo.
If you wish to bring a companion, please confirm this with me before your appointment as we may not be able to accomodate an additional person in our small studio. Please be respectful and remember this is a shared studio and there may be other tattooers and clients occupying our space.

aftercare
-
Green Tulip Tattoo Collective offers Derm Shield, an adhesive bandage developed specifically for tattoos, for immediate tattoo aftercare. This type of bandage helps the tattoo settle without interference (bacteria, friction, water, etc). However, some people find that the adhesive irritates their skin - if this is you, I’ll offer alternative bandage solutions. Please remember I am here to provide professional advice but ultimately how you heal your tattoo is up to you. Always listen to your body!

Tattoos are essentially the healed product of an artfully crafted wound. Tattoos last for a lifetime because the needle deposits ink into the dermis, or the second layer of skin. While the first layer of skin (the epidermis) scabs over and heals, the ink gets trapped under the new skin, leaving you with a freshly healed tattoo.
This kind of wound, in which the first layer of skin heals to reveal the tattoo underneath, requires extra consideration in the first few months while the tattoo is still vulnerable to infection, submersion and sunburn.
It’s important to remember that tattoos can become infected when exposed to bacteria. To prevent infection, avoid the use of public gym equipment and submerging the tattoo in a bath, pool, hottub, saltwater or lake. Avoid intense exercise or other sweaty activities. Avoid pet contact with the tattoo. Keep your tattoo clean and dry, and aways wash your hands before handling your fresh tattoo. Use fresh bedsheets and clean clothes. Avoid tight, synthetic fabrics and any materials you are sensitive or allergic to. Do not pick, scratch, or shave the healing tattoo. Avoid tanning and sun exposure to the tattooed area. Sunscreen can be used after the tattoo has completely scabbed and healed (typically 2-3 weeks).A helpful article on identifying allergic reactions and infections: How to Identify and Treat a Tattoo Allergy

Day 1 - 4: Vulnerable Phase
Your skin may be red and/or inflamed for the first few hours. Once the inflammation calms down, the tattoo will start to look darker and richer. With heavier pieces, the tattoo may be “juicy” under the bandage. This looks like ink mixed with blood and plasma. The bandage provides some protection against moisture and UV exposure, but avoid intense workouts and/or other sweaty activities as well as animals around the tattooed area.
- Wear the bandage for 3-4 days
- After 3-4 days, remove the bandage slowly and gently, peeling the bandage down and away from you
- Wash the tattoo immediately with warm water and gentle, neutral soap
- Pat to dry with a paper towel or clean, soft towel
- Let the tattoo breathe for 5-10 minutes, then apply a thin layer (like buttered toast, not a bagel schmear) of neutral, unscented lotion
- Keep your tattoo clean and hydrated, apply lotion 2-3 times a day for the first two weeks
- Remain “hands off” and don’t fuss with your tattoo
- Contact your artist immediately with any questions/concerns about your tattoo’s healing
Day 4 - 14: Scabby Phase
Your tattooed skin may start to look dry and peel. This is the body healing itself and turning over a new layer of skin on the outermost layer. Do not scratch or pick at the skin that is peeling or scabbing. Scratching risks damaging the actual tattoo in the dermis. Body hair will start to grow back around and under the tattoo, contributing to itch or discomfort. Continue to apply a thin layer of healing ointment or lotion to reduce discomfort. You can gently pat the tattoo to relieve the itchiness. Use fresh bedsheets and wear loose, breathable clothing while sleeping.
Day 14 - 3 months: Settled PhaseYour tattoo will be mostly settled in by Day 14. Keep the tattoo gently hydrated and continue to avoid submerging the tattoo in water, exposure to dirt/sand/beaches, sun exposure, and fabrics/products you may be sensitive to. By 3-6 months your tattoo will be fully healed. Any necessary touch ups should be scheduled between 3-6 months so that both tattoo sessions can blend seamlessly on your skin.
-
I will follow up via email in eight weeks to check in and see how your tattoo is doing. This is a great time to send a healed pic in natural light with a clear view and neutral background. You may also reach out about a touch up if desired. Touch ups are free and can be scheduled at any time - send me an email to get an appointment set up. Please include a photo of the healed tattoo in natural light.
